PROGRAM DIRECTORS
Thomas Valentine
Thomas Valentine is the co-director and coach for the Wachusett Bravehearts baseball program, a role he has embraced since the program's inception in 2020. With over a decade of experience in youth sports coaching and volunteering, Thomas has dedicated his time to various organizations, including Holden Little League and Wachusett Football AYF. Thomas has served on numerous boards of directors including youth programs, he’s always striving to give back and mentor the youth in his community.
He has dedicated himself to fostering young talent and instilling key values in his players. His coaching philosophy prioritizes the development of an all-around good athlete while emphasizing teamwork, a positive attitude, leadership qualities, and the importance of having fun.
A standout athlete in his own right, Thomas excelled in football, baseball, basketball, and track and field during his high school years. He was particularly distinguished in track and field, breaking numerous Massachusetts district & school records in the 100 and 400 meters, some of which he still holds today.
Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Thomas currently resides in Holden with his wife, Jillian, and their children, Bella and Brayden, along with their dog, Ryder. In addition to his coaching endeavors, he is also the President and founder of Forward Financial Services, Inc., located in Worcester, MA, where he continues to serve his community and support local families.
Jay LaBrack
Jay LaBrack, currently the Co-Director and coach for the Wachusett Bravehearts, has a long-standing involvement in baseball both as a player and coach. A standout during his high school years at Gardner High School, he set records as a pitcher and infielder. He continued his athletic career at Wheaton College and Keene State College, where he excelled as both a pitcher and outfielder.
Originally from Winchendon, Massachusetts, Jay now resides in Sterling with his wife, Beth, and their three sons, Travis, Evan, and Alex. His passion for baseball extends beyond the field as he works to foster youth development in the sport. As the current President of the Gibbs Little League, LaBrack has been instrumental in creating baseball opportunities for young athletes.
With over a decade of coaching experience, LaBrack has become a key figure in the local baseball community, helping to grow the sport at both town and club levels. His leadership and coaching roles with the Bravehearts and other organizations have made him an influential presence in shaping the next generation of players. His extensive background as both a player and coach continue to guide his work with the Wachusett Bravehearts and various other youth programs.
